TESSA'S GAMES SILVER MAKES BIG SPLASH AT PELICANWATERS
WHEN Caloundra teenager Tessa Wallace took Commonwealth Games silver in the Delhi pool recently, it made a huge splash back home at Pelican Waters.
The amazing performance from the 17 year-old breaststroker held a special meaning for leading Coast developer Pelican Waters, who has been proudly watching her progress since she was very young.
Pelican Waters has been a long-time sponsor and supporter of the Pelican Waters Caloundra Swimming Club based at the Caloundra Aquatic Centre, where Tessa has honed her amazing skills under father and coach, John Wallace.
"On behalf of Pelican Waters, I would like to congratulate Tessa on her amazing achievement at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in India," said Geoff Coleman, CEO for Pelican Waters.
"We have been a proud sponsor of the swim club for over a decade and it is a terrific honour for us to see this inspirational teenager make a name for herself on the international stage after putting in so much hard work,'' Mr Coleman said.
"Over the years we have seen kids go off to state and national titles...but never anything like this.
"She has lifted the whole community with her efforts and we wish Tessa all the best for her future career."
Tessa's silver capped off a remarkable first Commonwealth Games for the courageous swimmer, who burst into the squad after strong performances at the Pan Pacific Games.
