Connected to the internationally acclaimed Pumicestone Passage Marine Park, Pelican Waters attracts bird and animal lovers from around the globe.
An important marine ecosystem and fish breeding area, the Passage is home to a myriad of amazing creatures including dugong, turtles and dolphins. Between September and April the region comes alive with birds - up to 60,000 migrate from far-flung lands such as Siberia, Mongolia and northern China to feed and nest during the Australian summer.

Mindful of the environmentally fragile region, developers of the prestigious Pelican Waters residential community have pulled out all stops to preserve water quality and ensure the diversity of marine and bird life not only remains, but continues to thrive.
This awareness culminated with an environmental excellence award when Hall Contracting won a 2005 Queensland Case Earth Award for its role in constructing navigable waterways, civil infrastructure, road bridges and a lock and weir at Pelican Waters.
The waterway project served the dual purpose of creating waterfront home sites, while also improving the quality of water passing into Pumicestone Passage.
The Case Earth Awards recognise and reward best practice and innovation in the field of environmental management of civil construction and related projects. Hall's innovative use of recharge trenches around dry excavation preserved groundwater levels, avoiding oxidation of ground minerals.
