At Green Leaves Pelican Waters, their in-house Chef regularly delivers culinary classes to all age groups, from nursery through to Kindergarten. The centre Chef and Educators ensure that the activities are age-appropriate and suited to the interests and skills of the children.
Culinary classes assist with developing a child’s fine motor skills as they roll dough, crack eggs, flatten, squish, and chop as required. These activities help to develop the muscles in their hands to allow them to form a pencil grip and use scissors as they venture into their schooling years.
The classes also give children an opportunity to work as a team and allows for their creativity and imagination to flow as they create delicious recipes together. The children also learn about where food comes from and the importance of food safety and hygiene.
