One of the final pieces of infrastructure to be built in Pelican Waters was completed and opened today. After nearly 18 months of construction and $5.7M, the final bridge to be built in Pelican Waters has opened. Additionally, the New Holland Drive roadworks connecting the bridge to Bledisloe Boulevard was also opened today. The bridge represents the missing link connecting the Golf Course, Waterside and Glasshouse Bay precincts through Spitfire Banks Drive, to Michael Street down to the Pumicestone Passage. Both pieces of infrastructure have been designed and constructed to accommodate shared pedestrian/cycle paths, on street bike lanes and vehicle lanes to add that much-needed connectivity for all our community. To have our east-west connection completed has been a huge effort by all involved.
A big congratulations to all the team involved in this massive project including the bridge designers, Covey & Associates, our contractors at Hall Contracting led by Michael Fields, the Pelican Waters Landscape team led by Dane Alexander and of course Phil Tyrer the Pelican Waters Project Manager. We were fortunate to be able to have both the Henzell and Ford families represented for the ribbon cutting by Roy Henzell and Jeff Ford along with Garry Waters one of the Directors of the Pelican Waters Development. There are many more people who have been involved and to all those we thank you.
