Green Leaves Early Learning Pelican Waters offers a fully approved and funded, 3-and 4- year-old Kindergarten program, based on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and is led by a Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher. The Kindergarten program is based around the concept of belonging, being and becoming. This is ingrained in the children’s day-to-day activities in building a sense of belonging and connection while engaging in practices that develop a love for lifelong learning.
The warm and inviting learning hubs provide the perfect space for Educators to weave Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) experiences into the children’s daily activities. On any given day children can be seen measuring liquids and solids with scales, water play to test what sinks and what floats, developing engineering skills by building super high towers, or building ball runs to learn about speed and gravity.
Green Leaves Pelican Waters provides quality play-based learning experiences which allows children to explore and identify their own theories and ideas, negotiate and take risks. These important skills allow children to enter the wider world with confidence and curiosity. Finding a balance between routine and flexibility is important when mapping to your child’s individual developmental needs to ensure the Kindergarten teachers are providing a stimulating learning environment during the children’s Kindergarten years.
Each child that is part of the Green Leaves Kindergarten program is provided with a bright green shirt at the start of the year, this symbolises an exciting step in their school readiness journey whilst further ingraining the children’s sense of belonging and connection as they enjoy their last year of early learning and care.
