FUTURE OF SAFETY CAMERA IN COMMUNITY’S HANDS
Over the past couple of years there has been some community angst over property crime in Pelican Waters and Golden Beach, and in particular juvenile crime. It is worth noting that we are not the only area suffering, and this has been well documented by the media.
The community voiced its concerns and there were forums held, New Neighbourhood Watch chapters were re-formed and everyone was urgently seeking something to be done. Local police attended these meetings and provided their assurance that they understood the community’s concerns and would do what they could to increase their presence in the area.
One of their recommendations was the installation of an Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) Camera along Pelican Waters Boulevard.
This initiative was both managed and financed by Pelican Waters Development. It was agreed they would fund the camera for 6 months and in that time the community would come together and source funding to sustain the camera in its current position.
The camera was installed in April 2022 with installation and management of the camera costing approximately $15,000
per year. The 6-month period expired in October 2022 and Pelican Waters Development offered to continue funding
the camera for a further 6 months to April 2023.
The date is fast approaching and so again the call goes out to the community to rally together and identify how this camera funding can be achieved and sustained in the future. Over to you.
BEST BAR CONDITIONS IN DECADES
Sometimes in nature there can be a few surprises. One of these would have to be the breakthrough of Bribie Island in 2022.
From this phenomenon came a new entrance to Pumicestone Passage and a more consistent navigable channel for all. As luck would have it, the breakthrough happened to the north of Lamerough Canal, allowing safe passage to the protected waters of Pelican Waters Marina.
Now it’s even easier to travel to Moreton Island, Tangalooma or visit the world-famous Gutter Bar on the southern end of Moreton, right from your own back yard!
*Crossing any bar can be hazardous, skippers must use caution.

BOAT OPTIONS MAY SURPRISE
With bridge clearances of 4.3m at high tide and minimum 1.5m depth at the new Pumicestone Passage Entrance, it’s surprising the size of vessels that can be accommodated within the Pelican Waters Marina.
Our marina offers ample power at each berth to maintain your boat’s batteries and to supply power whilst you are berthed.
Take the hassle out of your vessel’s maintenance by using one of our onsite tenants or many mobile contractors around the area. Our team will be happy to discuss options with you.

MARINA COUNTDOWN
We are counting down until the official opening of our much-anticipated marina.
In a first for the Sunshine Coast, the precinct will feature a state-of-the-art dry boat storage facility comprising a fully enclosed 3,000sqm shed for the storage of up to 160 boats up to 10m in length, boat lift, one hour launch and retrieval service, boat washdown and engine flush amenities, client lounge and more.
The marina also offers 126 floating berths for the mooring of vessels up to 15m in length and a host of associated services including the region’s only on-water fuel dock pumping both premium diesel and premium unleaded petrol, Restaurant, CCTV, ensuites, power and water to all berths.
Construction is now in its final stages and we thank everybody for their patience. We apologise for previous completion dates that have not been met but these factors have been completely out of our control.
Rest assured, we want the marina opened quicker than anybody! It is unfortunate that delays by Unity Water and Council during the middle part of last year resulted in a slip in our construction program.
It has been a frustrating period and thankfully we appear to be over the last of the hurdles, so fingers crossed for an official opening date in the not-too-distant future.

NEW LAND NOW SELLING

Almost a year to the day since our last land release, a new selection of premium waterfront and dry lots will soon be available in the Castaways Pocket precinct.
Located in the south-western corner of the Island, the offering will comprise 28 lots including 22 dry and six waterfront opportunities.
Surrounded by water to the west and south and a future park to the east, they will range in size from 400sqm to 640sqm for the dry blocks and from 475sqm to 817sqm for the waterfronts.
This is part of the Stage 5 rollout, marking the final ever land releases in Pelican Waters and the culmination of a 35-year journey of transformation from humble coastal community into a thriving urban environment.
Only a handful of opportunities remain in the current stage, so the advice for you or anybody you know looking for Pelican Waters land is that it is becoming scarcer by the day and to act now.
These lots include three northfacing waterfront lots and six south-facing lots. Contact our friendly sales team to find out more.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Works are progressing well on the next stage of Castaways Pocket ahead of newest land release, with a completion date expected around April.
The earthworks are now finished, and civil works are currently underway. Residents who have peered through the fence would have noticed bridge piles and abutments coming out of the ground, which will accommodate the new bridge linking Spitfire Banks Drive on the Island to New Holland Drive, and through to the golf course giving western residents easy access to all that the island precinct has to offer.
The bridge decks are expected to arrive by the end of April, with construction targeted for completion in September, weather permitting.
Meanwhile work has just started on the final hectare of Central Park, one of the last large parks to be constructed at Pelican Waters. This will be one of our finest community spaces to date, offering a cricket field, zip line, outdoor fitness equipment, kids playground, barbecue facilities and more.
We are hopeful this park will be open to the community by the end of 2023.
Construction will begin around Easter on the Signature Terrace Park Series, to be built by one of the Sunshine Coast’s finest builders, Platinum Residential Designer Homes. Only two of the eight terraces remain for sale, so act fast to secure one of these award-winning terrace homes.
Featuring our best designs and highest quality fixtures and fittings to date, these terraces are the perfect lifestyle option offering 285sqm of dual level living with master suites upstairs and down, sought after northerly aspect and views of a fantastic new park.
